Vrboska lies in a picturesque cove at the end of a long bay. It is surrounded with pinewood forest and lovely beaches. The churches of Vrboska house the greatest cultural treasures of the island of Hvar.

The village offers an unusual sight on a karst island: houses rising on both shores of a channel spanned by several small bridges.
